Conspiracy theorists of the world, believers in the hidden hands of the Rothschilds and the Masons and the Illuminati, we skeptics owe you an apology. You were right. The players may be a little different, but your basic premise is correct:

The world is a rigged game.

We found this out in recent months, when a series of related corruption stories spilled out of the financial sector, suggesting the world’s largest banks may be fixing the prices of, well, just about everything.

You may have heard of the Libor scandal, in which at least three – and perhaps as many as 16 – of the name-brand too-big-to-fail banks have been manipulating global interest rates, in the process messing around with the prices of upward of $500 trillion (that’s trillion, with a “t”) worth of financial instruments.

On a recent Facebook post, I noted that it is an absolute certainty that things cannot continue the way they are going for a whole lot longer. I believe we are no more than 8-10 years away from a nuclear war with China and Russia. By the way, I, once again encourage readers to watch the CBS TV series “Jericho” (get the DVDs or watch it on Netflix) to get an idea of how quickly life, and even civilization, would change in such a scenario.

Furthermore, America’s economic outlook is bleak, the current phony surge in the stock market notwithstanding. For all intents and purposes, the US is bankrupt. We are living on borrowed money and on borrowed time. Every honest economist knows this is true and is making personal preparations for the inevitable.

In addition, can one imagine if there was any kind of national emergency? Have we forgotten the Los Angeles riots and New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina? Can one imagine what life would be like if the distribution of Welfare checks suddenly stopped, or if food could no longer be found in grocery stores, or if gas stations were out of gasoline?

Yes, I know that the vast majority of pastors and churches refuse to deal with any of these issues and do their best to keep people comfortably sedated. I also know that when you try to discuss these issues with church leaders, you hear such things as “This is America--it can’t happen here,” or “God won’t let that happen,” or “The Rapture will take place first,” and other such expressions of denial. Yet, I remind readers that the Old Testament story of Joseph was written “for our learning.” (Rom. 15:4 KJV) I also remind readers that the tribulations, which American Christians keep saying can’t happen to them, have been happening to Christians throughout the world for decades. I guess God must not love those poor folks as much as He loves us fat, lazy Christians in America, huh?

Major Newspapers Reject Pro-Life Ad, Image of Baby “Too Controversial”

Washington, DC (LiveActionNews) - A national pro-life organization is outraged after three major American Newspapers rejected a pro-life ad as “too controversial.”

The Chicago Tribune, USA Today, and the LA TImes refused to run an advertisement created by Heroic Media. 

The ad features a hand holding a 20- to 24-week-old baby with the quote, “This child has no voice, which is why it depends on yours. Speak Up.”

Heroic Media Executive Director Joe Young said he was shocked and angered that the media outlets were willing to talk about the issue but were unwilling to show the reality of life at 20 weeks.

“I am disturbed that these papers would run article after article promoting the notion that abortion is a victimless act without consequences,” Young said. “The fact remains, children who are unique individuals – never again to be duplicated – are being killed in the most violent way imaginable and they feel the excruciating pain of that death.”

The newspapers took issue with the image of the baby.

Doctor Who Did 1,200 Abortions Tells Congress to Ban Them

Dr. Anthony Levatino is a pro-life physician from New Mexico but, before having a change of heart on the issue of abortion he was an OBGYN who also performed abortions.
Levatino did as many as 1,200 abortions — some of them after 20 weeks of pregnancy. Then, after his daughter died in a tragic automobile accident, he re-evaluated his position on abortion and stopped doing abortions.

Today, Dr. Levatino told members of a Congressional committee that they should support a bill sponsored by Rep. Trent Franks that would ban abortions nationwide aft 20 weeks of pregnancy.
